Under the the shade of an American Elm, the front yard was repurposed by eliminating half the turf and a forlorn Magnolia tree. Reconfiguring and upgrading the whole irrigation system, Larronde Landscape Design implemented a design that incorporated a new courtyard which serves as a buffer to the public sidewalk. Planting a medium sized Pomegranate tree that will never get too large for the space adds fall fruit and seasonal color.

It was important to try to keep water away from the house, so potted plants were placed in the old planter box to keep water from soaking the ground near the foundation. A pathway was added to facilitate the moving of the trashbins and for easy access to the south side of the yard. An arbor was built matching existing house details for champagne grapes. A café-style seating area was added for neighborly visiting.
